It was a gentle afternoon that I spent with my friend and her new little family. And it was an unexpectedly emotional one too. Something about the pure love found in every detail of Elli's crib toys and the way my friend's husband was beaming and so reverently happy found me with a couple small tears in my view finder and that old lump in my throat. I've never felt so emotional while photographing anyone or anything. And so it was this day that I found the real photographer in me and learned, even after all these years, what it really means to capture light.
